SkiPaintings Exhibition Alta Ski Area

Poster
This was the poster for the show. You can see Watson Station and its clearly
a ski-in / ski-out location - PERFECT for the first SkiPaintings exhibition.
On the mountain at Alta, does it get any better than this?

Bachelorette Party
The godesses descended and a good time was had by all.
These are the paintings of the South Wall.

South Wall
Another view of the south wall with my goddess.

Spring Fever
Spring brings out the best in everyone.

The last days of Watson Shelter
Watson Shelter had been an Alta staple for over 60 years. A new Watson Shelter was built a few yards away including Collins Grill, the Cafeteria, and a new Baldy Brews espresso / beer bar.

Alta People
Alta attracts hardy, passionate, athletic people.
More than most areas the people that work at Alta
are the rugged individualist types. Nothing fancy,
low on flash, these are people big on substance.
At Alta its all about the real deal; how many days
on the mountain, how fast in the chutes, how deep
the powder and making it to the party. Long live Alta!

Onno Weiringa
Onno is the mountain manager, a solid citizen.
When my son and I showed up in January and
I started asking around everyone said the same
thing - you need to talk to Onno. Well we did and
when he saw the paintings he said, "We've never
had an art show on the mountain before. Let's try it."
Thanks for the show Onno!

Connie Marshall
The lovely Connie Marshall is Alta's Director of Sales & Marketing.

Jude Rubadue
The joyously serene fabulous one.
Jude runs Watson Shelter.

The Usual Suspects
Patrick, Bean and Dawn were some of the crew of 12 that lived at Watson Shelter.

A Gathering of Alta Skiers
An end of the season gathering of employees young and old.

Fabulous at Ten Thousand Feet
Highboy is a party on the last day of the season.
More on that in Suite Five.

How do you get paintings to a ski-in / ski-out only venue?
Here's the rig.
